  • I HAVE A KENMORE WASHER AND IT FILLS UP WITH WATER BUT IT WONT TURN OR DRAIN?

It worked perfectly fine as of the last wash and now it makes humming noiseI HAVE A KENMORE WASHER AND IT FILLS UP WITH WATER BUT IT WONT TURN OR DRAIN?
Well... .if it wasn't making a humming noise, I would have said it was a bad lid switch, but the humming noise says that either your motor is seized, you sucked something into your pump, your transmission is seized, or there's something wrong with your basket drive.

Hope its the pump, the other three are pricey.I HAVE A KENMORE WASHER AND IT FILLS UP WITH WATER BUT IT WONT TURN OR DRAIN?
    Check your pump.

Something is preventing it from turning, this way stopping the motor too.

I have found coins, bra parts and pieces of fabric in pumps.

Just lift the washer to access the pump, unplug the two hoses going to it, collect water if any, disconnect pump, remove the object from inside and put everything back together.

    Good luck!

How can you tell the bearings have gone in your washer machine?

If a washing machine is rumbling, and very noisy on spin, the main suspect is the drum bearings. Drum bearing failure is common on many washing machines due to water getting into them if the drum bearing seal fails. (Hotpoint and Zanussi in particular in my experience) To check for drum bearing failure you can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. If the drum rumbles when spun then the bearings may have gone. There should be a constant rumble all the time the drum is revolving.

Another drum bearing failure symptom is excessive up and down play in the drum which can be checked for by lifting the drum up and down from the drum lip behind the door seal. A further symptom of drum bearing failure can be a brown rust patch underneath the washing machine and down the back of the outer drum, underneath the drum pulley (where the belt goes) although this patch is not always present. There are usually two small holes at the back of the drum bearings where water that has got past the drum bearing seal trickles out, and it's usually stained with grease and rust if water has got into the bearings. How can you tell the bearings have gone in your washer machine?
It wont be a cheap job to replace the bearings. It'll cost more in labour, the parts are only about 拢20.I've done 2 machines myself, both Hotpoint. You also need the right tools, because the hardest part can be removing the old bearings, also, how much of the machine you have to take apart to remove inner drum before you can remove the old bearings. Then when your done, put it back together, you could have a leak, then what do you do?Start again. How can you tell the bearings have gone in your washer machine?
Grinding noise. Also lift the drum at the top. A small amount of movement is normal. If it moves up and down, say, 15 - 20mm the bearing is shot. Replacement is fairly straightforward. You buy a kit which includes a seal. Haynes do a Washing Machine manual which will guide you through the procedure.
On fast spin,if it noisy then do not fluff around, get a new machine,as if the bearings are shot, the rest of the machine is not far behind, and with the newest machines they work at a lower Temperature so saving you loads of money in the long run
All of the above , the noise is a first indication , get it sorted to avoid further damage

If you had a washer that's broken and it's repairable, would you rather buy a new one or just have it repair?

Buy a new one. Last time I had a man coming to my home for an ';estimate only'; (he had to see what was broken first and how much it was gonna cost me to fix it) I paid 250 dollars ! Yep, Manhattan prices plus, the piece that needed to be replaced, was gonna cost me 350. I opted for a new one.If you had a washer that's broken and it's repairable, would you rather buy a new one or just have it repair?
definitely depends on price. if repair costs (including parts and labour) are over 1/2 cost to buy a new one then definitely buy a new one!If you had a washer that's broken and it's repairable, would you rather buy a new one or just have it repair?
when having the transmission repaired in a washer it is often cheaper to buy a new washer.

so i choose buy a new one.
    Repair it!!!

Do you know how much new one's cost these days???

Or hit up Craigslist for a used one at a decent price.
whichever option is the cheaper option!

I have a GE washer that's around 2 years old. It will no longer agitate, however it will fill, drain and spin

When it gets to the point in the cycle when it should agitate it just sits there. You can hear the motor but it won't even move the timer-it doesn't progress through that part of the cycle unless I manually move the knob. I'm thinking it's the belt but I'm not sure if that is it and if so, how to fix it.I have a GE washer that's around 2 years old. It will no longer agitate, however it will fill, drain and spin
No expert here, but a broken something or other that can probably easily be replaced.

My whole transmission had to be replaced years ago. My repairman is pretty cool--replaced it with another used one %26amp; only charged me about $80 for the whole repair. Still works great! (I live in a fairly rural area) in SW Virginia.)

Call a local repairman--get some estimates over the phone after telling them what it's doing.

Oh, it's only 2 years old? Check 2C if there are recalls. it seems too soon to have gone bad unless you've overloaded it a lot.I have a GE washer that's around 2 years old. It will no longer agitate, however it will fill, drain and spin
I think that your timer is bad, since it isn't moving. Otherwise, maybe your belt is bad, or one of the actuators for the transmission is out.

Whirlpool cabrio 4.5cu ft 11-cycle super capacity plus washer?

    What about this?

    How to level clothes washer.?

Kenmore Mod 70 has self leveling rear legs. How are the back legs adjusted and locked? How to level clothes washer.?
You have to level the front legs first by turning the knobs in or out. Use a level across the front to make sure it is perfectly level. Once you have the front level you need to pull the back of the machine forward so that the rear legs are lifted off the floor by 10 to 12 inches and then set it back down. This will level the rear legs. They will lock themselves. How to level clothes washer.?
If it has self leveling screws then you just turn them in or out by hand or by an open end wrench or spanner if you need one. It may also have a lock nut on the shaft of the screw that can be tightened against the frame of the washing machine enclosure. Use any kind of level on top of the washer in two mutually perpendicular directions to make sure it is level and stable.
alot of washers are self leveling but the feet of the washer just screw just turn them to level , they might be hard to do..but theres no trick to it

When you guys go to buy a new lets say washer or dryer.....?

Do you look up on the computer about complaints against the company or complaints about the item you are buying....you should. I just checked on an appliance Sears sells.....look out. Be sure before you buy anything you call to see if there is a repair shop by you, matter of fact check to be sure there are 2 or 3 ask how good or bad the appliance is you are thinking of buying and how easy/hard it is to get parts...You will be amazed, and you will save big bucks. When you guys go to buy a new lets say washer or dryer.....?

Call a GE Repair person.I have an GE washer model WB1R1060T it will wash but will not spin how can I fix it?
Nearly all of that type of trouble is caused by a bad cycle timer. Unless you are confident that you can tear down the machine, replace the timer, and put it back together, it's repairman time.I have an GE washer model WB1R1060T it will wash but will not spin how can I fix it?
Assuming your washer is a belt drive, the problem might be as simple as a loose or broken electrical connection to the wig wag. The wig wag is a magnetically controlled apparatus that changes the agitation and spin modes in the transmission.. If you go to the following web site and scroll down to '; Sears/ Kenmore/ Whirlpool/ Roper (belt drive) and on down to the line that references wig-wag It will show you a picture of it. Check the wiring going to it to make sure it is secure. http://www.american-appliance.com/servic鈥?/a> To read more about the wig wag go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wig_wag_(wa鈥?/a> ...Good Luck...
Could be the lid switch.......spin/rinse cycle normally will not work if lid is open..or switch is broken. IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU';RE DOING......you can short out the switch to see if that's the problem. If not sure....get a serviceman.

    Good luck

Is a Washer Seat just another washer??

I replaced an all but disintegrated washer from a stem in the shower and it didn't fix my leak, Someone wrote that my next step is to replce the Washer Seat behind it. But is this ';seat'; metal, rubber or what? Be sure to leave your email so I can follow up.Is a Washer Seat just another washer??
The washer seat is the part of the faucet that the washer contacts. It is probably metal and can be taken out by inserting an allen wrench of the correct size and turning counter-clockwise. (righty-tighty,lefty-loosey). Take the seat to your local hardware store and match it up with a new one. Usually the hot water side goes out first, so you might consider replacing both at the same time. Contact me by clicking on my handle. Is a Washer Seat just another washer??
the rubber seats against a machined brass seat. if it is pitted it needs to be removed with a seat wrench and replace with a new seat. good luck finding a supply house that has a seat for a forty year old valve. you are going to have to either walk on this one or install a new valve. i hope you don't have a handyman business...good luck
The seat is metal and inside the valve. You will need to buy some new seats and a wrench to remove and install the new one.

Anyone at a hardware store can help you with questions.
The 'seat' is the brass or pot metal that the washer seals against. If yours is corroded, like it was chromed, and the chrome has lifted, it tears up the washer, and needs to be replaced!

Put in a new washer, too!

  • When do you know when to use the disk and washer method?

Disk and washer methods are methods for solving the volume formed by revolving a function(s) about an axis. The disk method is used when the volume enclosed is solid (like if you have x^2 that you rotate about the y or x axis). The washer method is used when the enclosed volume is not solid from all the way to the axis (like if you had the region between x^2 and x rotated around the x or y axis)

Haven't you ever seen those Maytag commercials? The Maytag repair man is just dying for someone to call him for a repair!!! lol If your washer won't reset then there's a problem somewhere and you should call Maytag. You never know, it could be something simple and easy to repair but if you keep putting it off then it could cost you more later. If the washer is still under warranty then usually you can get if fixed for free or sometimes there is just a small deductable. Hope you get it fixed soon so you don't have to end up going to the laundry mat. Good luck!
I had the issue with my kenmore front loading washer. It turned out to be a circuit board. Do a google on the error - you would be suprised the fixes you can find.. I did end up banging on the top of the washer it then stopped and I found the error on a website and had it serviced (under warranty thank goodness). If you don't want to do any of those, turn the power off and unhook the drain hose and look for a blockage - sometimes socks get stuck in the drain.
My cousin's did that and he had to get a new motor. It had some sort of issue when it was loaded. I'd call maytag and they should be able to help you out. If it is like my cousin's they'll replace it for you.

Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?

and just wont turn on at all..i dont know what happneed to it. plz help.Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?
Your washing machine should have a drain pipe that is connected to the backside of the machine... I believe you can take it down from its verticle position and let the water flow out like a syphon into a bowl. Make sure you unplug everything though so there is no electric current running in the machine. Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?
Before you try siphoning (which will empty it well), take a shot at getting it to empty itself.

See if there is a light on (like the fluorescent on the console) indicating there is power at the machine. If not check the circuit breaker/fuse is OK and also check that the GFCI is not tripped and that the plug has not vibrated out of the receptacle.

If the electric is OK the machine may have a failed control timer. See if you can turn it or use it to select spin. Getting into that part of the cycle could get the water out (and is a good indication of what might be wrong with the machine itself).

If the machine has power but is not doing anything, lift out the clothes and drop them into the basin or into a large pail. Then take them outside so you can wring them out and let them get reasonably dry before you pop them into the dryer. Now you have a tub of water that you are going to have to siphon out using a hose or one of those squeeze-the-bulb gas siphoners.
I am having a very similar problem with my clothes washer. What I did is simply remove the outlet pipe from the drain system (if any) and lower the pipe outlet to a level below the wash drum. - This will cause the natural gravity to push the water to the lowest point (the drainpipe.)

Granted, you will need a seperate basin (I used an ice chest (I reasoned ';it is plastic, so why not?';)

GOOD LUCK finding a reasonable price for your repair part! My clothes washer is over 23 years old, and I have re-re-re-repaired this far too many times so I am tempting to buy a new replacement.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED!
Get a pot, and scoop it out.
No. Just get a bucket or cup and start bailing...
    Small sump pump
did you check your fuse box? what I do with mine is put the garden hose in it and make a vacuum in it and let it drain.
This happened to me before as well. I used a water hose to siphon it out.
Check the plug, and then check the circuit breaker. It also might be the dial.

You will need a bucket and a plastic bowl and just scoop the water out. and when you get to the bottom, use a large sponge and wring it out and do it again, and again.

    Sorry Sponge Bob.

Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?

and just wont turn on at all..i dont know what happneed to it. plz help.Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?
here's a method that I have used dozens of times. If the drain hose exits at the bottom of the wash simply lower the hose to a floor drain. No drain? try emptying it into a bucket. The most common reason that a washer will not drain. Overloading and burning off the drive belt. No 2. A small sock or nylon( sorry ladies!) gets full of air , goes over the top of the tub and pluggs the inside drain inlet from the washer sump to the pump. Once the water is out, pop the top( top loaders) , lean it against wall( power unplugged) and remove agitator. Then you will see a tub nut , remove counter-clock-wise and remove tub. All clear there? Turn washer as far back as possible without totally laying down and start pulling off the drain hoses one by one. no sock? chances are high that at this point you fixed or can fix the problem. Is there any way to drain a washer manually? mine stopped..?
If you have a shop vac, you could suck the water out with that. If not, you can bail it out with a pitcher or other container, and sop up the rest with a towel. Won't get it all, but enough that you can move the machine.
make a syphon with a hose or buy a battery operated one

The agitation and spinning action of a washing machine is done through a transmission. The transmission is usually actuated by a solenoid (electrical coil that moves a metal slug when energized) that operates a cam (piece of metal with slots in it or shapes across the top of it that operates different levers when it moves).

One of a few things could have happened. Either the solenoid burned out, so it won't operate the cam; there's a fault in the timer that prevents it from energizing the solenoid; the cam broke or came loose; or the transmission itself is broken. And, I would think that the probability of failure is in that order.Whirlpool washer quit working? ANY HELP?
mine does the same thing but ive found that after the load is done complete a rotation on the dial ending on 2nd spin it will do its thing.
if it has a burning smell more then likely your belt broke
Firstly, Whirlpools haven't used belts in over 20 years. If your washer won't agitate, the rubber coupler between the motor and transmission may have broke. If you tip the machine back you would see bits of rubber on the floor. If it agitates but won't go into spin, you have a broken lid switch, located the under the top panel on the right side of the tub. If you lift the lid and look underneath it towards the back you'll find the model/ serial numbers to order parts. Here's some instructional links you might find helpful.

For cars only you simply need a 2000 psi..You definately want one with a ohc engine on it..not the common mower type engine...Most ';honda'; engines on pressure washers are ohc's (overhead cams)..get one that has a gun that has exchangeable tips and not the ones that you twist the heads to adjust it...these bend and clog up and require buuying a whloe new gun... 5 hp is plenty good..3,5 actually for just cars will

When washing soft baby toys in the washer, should I be using a detergent like ';dreft'; or just use hot water?

My concern is that since our daughter is constantly sucking on her soft toys, I don't want to introduce any soap into her system. So, if we do use soap, will it wash out in the rinse cycle even though the toy is very pretty thick with material (i.e. a fuzzy bear, etc.)?When washing soft baby toys in the washer, should I be using a detergent like ';dreft'; or just use hot water?
We put our soft baby toys and stuffed animals in a pillow case and tied it off and put that in the washer using regular detergent.

Dreft detergent is special because it does not ruin the flame resistance that is in baby pajammas. But it is still detergent.

I never tried just washing in hot water. When washing soft baby toys in the washer, should I be using a detergent like ';dreft'; or just use hot water?
i personally would advise against detergent, unless they sell baby friendly ones. im not sure.

you could use BiCarb soda. its pretty much a 100% germ killer. I use it in place of detergent in our house. so far the colour doesent leave the clothes.
try hot water and a little vinegar. it won't harm your child and it will kill any bacteria.
your regular detergent is suffice make sure your washer is on extra rinse you should be good.
Personally, I wash my daughter's toys with a little bit of baby detergent. I use maybe half of what I would for a load of her clothes, and it seems to work just fine.

Also, they reccomend that to get stuff like dust off, to put a stuffed animal in a freezer bag in the freezer overnight. It helps the dust fall off. I haven't done this yet, but if I notice my daughter starting to sneeze a bunch, I'll give it a try.
I doubt if it will all wash out without detergent. But remember, introducing small amount of bacteria etc to your baby is healthy. It will allow them to be stronger fighters down the road.
I would use dreft and hot water, but instead of rinsing once on a normal wash cycle, rinse about 3 times, I do when washing towels with bleach because I have kittys and don't want them to get bleached, so I put thru the rinse 3 times.
Dreft is good, it is less harsh. My son had allergic reactions to anything but Dreft. Just us 1/2 the amount for toys and such.
Hot water will not sanitize it unless it's boiling hot water.
Clorox makes a spray for cleaning toys. You can find it at any grocery store. But to make sure you are getting the right thing, you should go to Babies R' Us. I know they have it as well. Hot water alone will clean the toys but it won't sanitize them. This clorox product will get the yucky germs off of all the toys. It also works good on the highchair, swing, etc. Just about anything your baby touches.

OOOPS. Just put my mobile through the washer. Will it work again????

Not likely. The only chance is to open it all up and dry it out... I have dropped phones down the toilet before and they stopped working. If that doesn't work, try claiming on your insurance....OOOPS. Just put my mobile through the washer. Will it work again????
Can you turn it on and check if it works or do you want one of us to come over to turn it on for you?

Dry it out with a hair dryer (do not overheat it!) and, if you are lucky it might work.OOOPS. Just put my mobile through the washer. Will it work again????
I dropped mine in a bucket of soapy water while washing my car. I rinsed it out and let it dry and it was fine. Good luck with yours.
My phone's been through 2 40degree washes, I stripped it down as far as I could, left it on top of a radiator for 2 days and it was fine.
nope, either buy another or if you had insurance, claim it
It happened to me once. I opened it immediately, put under the fan, and an hour later it was working fine. Try it...
Mine didn't, but then again it did get really battered, it depends what condition it's in.
Take it apart as much as you can, and let it dry for two days.
Take the battery out, set the phone out to dry and wait 48 hours for all of the water to evaporate before trying to see if it will work again. Sometimes it will, as long as you let it dry out before giving it power again.
sorry but prob not but you could try to dry it out befor getting a new one

i duno what i would do without my phone

you could also try claim on insurance if you have it that is

    nope prob nt
take the battery out,Sim card if its got one then put it in the airing cupboard for two days, don't atemp to turn it on till then.
Aunt put uncle';s fone through washer, he had to buy new fone. Sorry.
i went swimming with my nokia in my pocket took battery out and dried it out with a hair drier works fine give it a go before you go and buy a new one
give thime 2 dry and it will work at lease a day or 2.
    nah prob not sugar
    No .
not unless your washer is broken.
Mine did...I bought a new phone and was getting ready to throw the damaged goods away after about 2 weeks. Thought I'd try to turn it on just for giggles and it worked like brand new...sold it to a guy at work for $75 :-)
    No
A workmate did it to his Samsung D500, the only thing he had to do was dry it out and replace the battery.

yes it helps, and it won't do anything bad, that's why I suggested it for your last question . . .
i have washed my shoes in the washer before. you just need to place the shoes in a pillow case when you are washing them. i spray my shoes down with shout and put clorox in the water and it helped my shoes look better. but you can also get a clean rag and use Ajax to clean the bottom of your shoes. I also do that and they help a lot.

  • What is a inlet hose on a washer?

Well, there are two inlet hoses- one hot and one cold. These typically have a standard 3/4'; hose connection on each end, or one end is permanently connected at the washer.

FYI, the outlet hose has a 180 deg bend at one end and hooks over the drain pipe. What is a inlet hose on a washer?
think about it. there are 2 hoses, 1 lets water in and the other lets water out.

I own a set of Whirlpool Duet washer & dryer. My Towles stink!?

I'm supposed to be able to wash something like 12 towles at once. I wash less, and I still have a problem with them smelling still dirty. I use the correct detergent, amount and correct fabric softener and amount of that. Anyone else?I own a set of Whirlpool Duet washer %26amp; dryer. My Towles stink!?
Baking SodaI own a set of Whirlpool Duet washer %26amp; dryer. My Towles stink!?
run a load of just bleach and nothing else, no clothes nothing. If that doesn't try a load of baking soda only. If it's just your towels try adding baking soda to the towels when you are washing them, the towels may be the problem.

My washer will not spin, the water fills up then it jsut stops.. any advice?

My washer did this once. First if the lid has a tab that goes into a hole on the washer it comes into contact with another tab that you should be able to see inside the hole. I pushed a nail into the hole and applied pressure to the other tab. This is a satety device to ensure that the lid is closed before it will spin so no one gets hurt. After doing this My washer still didn't spin. I removed the top of the washer and seen where the tab inside made contact. It was to a relay. I removed that part, we have a store that has or will order appliance replacement parts. The part was actually very inexpensive. I don't remember if I gave them the number off the part or the make and model number off my washer and explained what the part was as I have ordered other parts for my stove, dryer, and refrigerator. Hope this helps since fixing it yourself saves so much money. My washer will not spin, the water fills up then it jsut stops.. any advice?
Has the washer been out of balance recently? Does it agitate and only not work on the spin cycle? If the motor doesn't come on it is probably burnt out. If it does (I'm hoping this is the case) the belt may have slipped off and needs to be re-tensioned or broken and needs to be replaced. My washer will not spin, the water fills up then it jsut stops.. any advice?
Most likely your machine is a direct drive (no belts) One weak point of the direct drive is the coupling between the motor and transmission. Basically how the machine works is, the motor runs in one direction to agitate and changes directions to pump water out and spin. If the coupling is broken it will do neither.

Of course not knowing the make or model of your machine that is a guess on my part. Check the following web site and click the appropriate description of your machine and it might give you some ideas as to the problem....Good Luck...

    http://www.repairclinic.com/0047_11.asp
It could be a lid switch problem. If the machine thinks the lid is still open then it will not agitate or spin. Another possibility is the drive belts are worn if the machine sounds like it is trying to spin or agitate.

Maytag washer cold water wash cycle won't fill??

i have maytag top loader washer (lat5005aaw). it has 3 different wash/rinse cycles...hot/cold, warm/cold and cold/cold. the hot/cold cycle wks fine, the warm/cold cycle only has hot during wash and cold during rinse. the cold/cold cycle has no cold water during wash (it doesn't fill w/water) BUT does fill w/cold water during rinse. i've replaced the hoses, they were old. the faucets are turned on. and i replaced the intake valve, which didn't help. any ideas? i'd rather not replace the timer ($$$). is there a way of testing it first. i have a volt/ohm/amp meter... tiaMaytag washer cold water wash cycle won't fill??
Its nothing to do with your cold water input. You're looking for a problem in your electrical controls. It likely is your timer. I cant say how to test it without looking at it but if you open the panel up where the controls are you will probably find the wiring schematic. Follow it out and see what controls the cold water on the wash cycle and what controls it on the rinse. See what the difference is and check it out. Be careful if you test it yourself. you will need someone with you just in case. Good luck.

What is wrong with my washer!~???

there is still water left in the bottom, just a little bit, so the clothese are not getting all the water out of them in the rinse cycle, and also still a little soapy. i have always used the same amount of detergant,so it cant be that. What is wrong with my washer!~???
One good site to help you troubleshoot the problem is www.repairclinic.com. Specifically go to:

    http://www.repairclinic.com/0088_11_1.as鈥?/a>

and read ';It won't drain'; and ';The clothes are wet after spinning.'; If it is determined that you need parts they will sell them to you along with the instructions on how to locate and change that part. What is wrong with my washer!~???
drain hose could be clogged or the pump is shot. run it without clothes and see if the same thing happens. repairing this yourself is not too difficult and way cheaper than bringing in an appliance tech for a house call. if you input the brand/model# in google, you will get a couple if good different DIY sites to walk you through the repair.
Did you rince? Check to see that your exit hose isn't obstructed, check your washer water pump(its on the end of the hose.Make sure you got a spin cycle(timmer)

    Washer moves around too much?

Ummm...it's overfilled and unbalanced.Washer moves around too much?
    1) Is the floor sloped?

    2) Are you overloading your washer? Is it unbalanced? Try smaller loads that are balanced. When it starts to travel, stop it and readjust the load so that it's even on both sides.Washer moves around too much?
its off balance. either the load is too heavy, or the feet need adjusted.. remove clothes and / or rearrange them
oooh i hate that when it gets all jiggy when washing clothes. i don't know though...get a new one i suppose...
Most likely it's that it is unevenly loaded. Test it by running a spin cycle with the machine empty. If it still shakes, it could be setup uneven (highly unlikely if it ';moves around too much';). Get a level, check it. Adjust the feet. If that doesn't help, it could be a problem inside the machine, as in something was bolted down off center, then it's defective. Take it back or call out the warranty repair.
I'll go with what the rest of the people have said. Make sure that the washer is level and the loads are balanced.

I also went ahead and got some rubber furniture pads and put under mine. This will help the washer from walking from the vibrations.

    Hope it works for you.

    good luck.
I think KJ has the answer.
Mine will do that if the load is unbalanced while it is in the spin cycle.
you need to make sure your washer is level. you can lay a level on top of it and make the adjustment needed. the legs of it should screw in and out.
the balancing thing and leveling is the most likely thing, but one thing that could have been overlooked this that the washer legs should have rubber piece on them already but some time the service guy for get to put them on. hope this help.
Make sure the washer is level on your floor!

There is those little things on the bottom to help level it out.
check the legs and see if its sitting right.. use a spirit level to check otherwise you may have overloaded it or unbalanced it.. if the floor is un even you may need a wee bit of timber under neath to balance it up... failing that see a tech
Sit on it and it won't move s much or get new washer.
everyones problem with a tub washer.

i'm guessing this is the reason why they invented/modified the washer and made a drum wasger.

all the above answers are right. but if it really annoys you get a drum washer.

ps. drum washers leak after sometime :-))
Well, either your floor is uneven, or you are putting too much clothes into the washer. Don't overfill the washer. I have found that is is best to fill it 3/4 of the way with dry laundry. That should atleast help. If not maybe its time to upgrade!?

Replacing timer on a Kenmore Washer?

How do I remove the knob? I have an older Kenmore washer, the timer has died and needs replacing. I have the replacement part and on it, it says to push the knob in all of the way and then to pull it back out 3/16ths of an inch to remove it. What's the trick? It does not release and I see no allen screw or anything else holding it on the stem (of the timer). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Replacing timer on a Kenmore Washer?
    Hey Doc,

If it's a Kenmore model 110.etc it's Whirlpool. If the new timer you've got is all plastic, it's not that old. On some models, you have unscrew the control panel and push a button behind the timer to release the knob. Silly design, but they did that for awhile.Replacing timer on a Kenmore Washer?
the trick is how we techs get paid so much to come to your house and do it for you!! what i need to know is the type of timer. any age unit could have 1 of 3 types. an all metal timer you just push in on the knob and unscrew it from the shaft. a whitish color plastic or all black timer both have a pull tab in the center back of the timer that you have to push in on the knob, then pull out on the tab to release the knob. then when you get the new one in the panel then push the tab back in to lock the knob on place. you do have to give a somewhat firm pull on the knob after pulling the tab out to pull knob off of shaft. be careful to not break the knob, but it does happen. look at the new timer and check the shaft so you can see what you are doing before you do it to the old one and break the knob.

by the way you didnt tell us why you are replacing the timer? they really dont go bad that often.
keep trying inch after inch until you find the right inch.like it says 3/16Th's of an in try 3/17Th's of an inch and so on and so on until you get it right i would do it that way.
it is doubtful that the timer is bad. if the motor won't start the timer will stall at that time.

That's what I would like to know.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/09031鈥?/a>How can someone mistaken windshield washer for kool-aid?
I have NO idea how you could not realize that it was windshield washer fluid. Also, if she mistook it for the kool-aid...why was she keeping the two in a similar place in the first place prior to even bringing it to the daycare center? I don't know about anyone else, but I don't buy kool-aid in 2 - 4L jugs and keep it in my garage. Nor do I keep washer fluid in my fridge (or kitchen for that matter). I seem to think it wasn't as innocent as they're trying to make it sound. She gave up her license and said it was a ';horrible mistake';. Yeah i'd say so...and of course she would give up her license....it's not like anyone would ever leave there kids with her after this anyways! How can someone mistaken windshield washer for kool-aid?
Apparently the bright color was enough to make whoever served it think it was juice. Which almost makes sense, as juice is often a somewhat frightening color. Though I don't get why the smell wasn't a hint to anyone.

I cant find the lint trap on my maytag neptune washer?

My Neptune wont drain, and i'm fairly sure its because the lint trap is clogged, because everything else about the washer is working just fine. i removed both the front and back panels, but i cant find exactly where the lint trap would be...please help! i don't wanna pay 140$ just for someone to remove a rogue sock...I cant find the lint trap on my maytag neptune washer?
Most washers don't have a lint trap on them. But if yours is a top loader and has one, it would be at the bottom of the tub near the agitator. Usually if a washer won't drain or spin, it's because either the hoses in the back of the washer are kinked/clogged or the lid switch on your washers door frame has failed.I cant find the lint trap on my maytag neptune washer?
The Neptune washers have filters in several locations but not a lint filter. And I would be more likely to suspect some or all of your filters are clogged by undissolved laundry products and hard water mineral deposits.

Is the pump running to help pull the water out? If the machine spinning out? If the answer to either is no, it's not a plug problem.

You can try putting a lot of white vinegar in the machine and sending it through a cycle. Shut it off 1/2 way though and let the white vinegar soak overnight to loosen any build up that might be there but I'm thinking you're going to end up having to call a repairman.....

How old's your washer? Might need a new washer. But, I've had the same problem, it's the plumbing that needed to be fixed, not a new washer. What is wrong with my washer!~???
    Several things could be happening..

First make sure it's spinning the entire cycle.. If it's not your timer could be on the fritz...If the spin cycle is working correctly could be a stopped up drain not allowing all the water to be pumped out before the cycle is finished, or your pump could be going out.
where the drain hose inters the wall you are not allowing any air in that's slowing down the pumps ability to evacuate the water during the spin cycle---other than that you could have a blockage in the hose it's self
sounds like something you got in your outlet hose. When it spins it has a restriction. I would check everything from the house that goes to the sewer to the spinner on the washer. It sounds like its got a sock or something in it.
sounds like the pump is clogged or broken.

The only way to fix it is to call a repairman, or buy a new washer.
try calling the reapair man ... or check on the internet what could be wrong and fix it...

look at the agitator coupling(remove it) is there 4 plastic comma looking pieces?

If so they are called ';agitator dogs'; about a $8.00 fix and they wear out commonly.

also could be a belt that would be obviously broken...

go to www.appliancepartssolutions.com they are ausome and cheep!I need help! My Whirlpool washer is not spinning. It will drain, but not spin. Any ideas?
It could be the belt has broken, come loose or some thing is jamming it(a shoe or a thong etc) I have had this problem many times and if everything else is working it's probably something very simple. This can be checked easily with most washers, move it away from the wall and look in the back, this usually requires the removal of a back panel and some times you need to disconnect the hoses in order to move the machine. Of cause if your machine has a direct drive motor then this information is no good, but try it anyway. I had a technician come and repair my washing machine once and I looked over his shoulder for about five seconds and for the next sixteen years did all my own repairs on that machine.
There is a belt attatched to the bottom of the tub and hooked to the motor, this is probably slipped or broken and need to be replaced. Un hook it, remove back and check.
If the belt is intact, check the connection that runs the motor. Some of my washers unplug themselves all the time.
    Could be the transmission.
