Windshield washer fluid in the eyes?

I was doing oilfield work the other day, and got a high pressure jet of 50% methanol windshield washer fluid, along with a bunch of dirt blown right into my eyes. Still hurts! Anybody had something similar? How long did it take to heal?Windshield washer fluid in the eyes?
Rinsing out the chemicals is a good idea but you need to be seen by an ophthalmologist ASAP. The cornea (the clear part of the eye that covers the colored part) may have been damaged. It can heal fairly quick but if there is any damage to the first layer you are open to infection. An ophthalmologist can prescribe an antibiotic to ward off infection and also make sure there is no permanent damage. Good luck and hope you feel better!Windshield washer fluid in the eyes?
could take a while and the chemicals could cause serious damage to the eye... throughly wash and rinse the eye with cold water to remove the fluid from the eye if there is ne remaining.... keep a cold towel or pack close to place over eye.. if that does not work, u may need to c a doctor for a medicated eye frop to remove the degris and mthanol from ya eye

hope u get to feeling better!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you try rinsing your eyes with water? If your eyes are still bothering you, please go to your doctor. You could have something stuck in your eyes or could be experiencing some reaction to the chemicals. Get to your doctor and get checked out!
