I have a stacked washer/dryer-frigidaire/electr鈥?of inside tub rubs inside the outside tub?

it has rubbed a hole in it-can I just add spacers to the 5 bolts that hold it down?I have a stacked washer/dryer-frigidaire/electr鈥?of inside tub rubs inside the outside tub?
The washing machine has two steel tubs. The inner tub is the one that holds the clothes. It has an agitator in the middle of it, and the sides are perforated with holes so that when the tub spins, the water can leave.

The outer tub, which seals in all the water, is bolted to the body of the washer. Because the inner tub vibrates and shakes during the wash cycle, it has to be mounted in a way that lets it move around without banging into other parts of the machine.

If you've got a hole in the inner or outer tub, then there was something wrong with the inner tub's mounting.

It should have been repaired when first noticed, before any damage was done.

Now you'll have to replace the inner and/or the outer tub which can cost more than the machine is worth.

Not to mention the original problem has to be addressed also.

I would suggest purchasing a new unit.I have a stacked washer/dryer-frigidaire/electr鈥?of inside tub rubs inside the outside tub?
Hello, it would help to know the model #. But in my experience, I would have to guess that someone in the family work's with wood, or is just handy. And a nail or screw has come out of a pocket and made it through one of the perforated holes in the inner tub, and worn a hole through the outer poly tub. Over loading or unbalanced loads could make problems, but you would have to load it the same every time. Also check your tub springs. But always check the pockets, I'm still leaning towards the nail/screw.

Good Luck
Short term, patch the hole with JB weld, and turn the inner tub by hand to see where and why it's rubbing (Could just be you're overloading it). Rebalance/center it if you can.

Long term -- time to go shopping for a new unit
